With internal wire to prevent spring over extension.

When straight the spring is a rigid support.
Push centre of spring to collapse and allow closing.
 

Two 4mm diameter mounting holes on 28mm centres on each end bracket.
The left end needs to be mounted on  a vertical surface and the right end on a horizontal surface.
